From the March 1970 issue of The Christian Science Journal

The Christian Science Board of Directors has announced the establishment of a Film and Broadcasting Department and the appointment of Alan Young, C. S., of Los Angeles, California, as Manager.

The new department was established to make the most effective use of audiovisual media in communicating the message of Christian Science to the world. It will be responsible for radio, television, films, recordings, and other audiovisual presentations for church members and the public.

Mr. Young, internationally known for his work in radio, films, and television, came to Boston last fall to manage the new department. A member of The Mother Church since 1937, Mr. Young had class instruction in 1940. He has been in the full-time practice of Christian Science since 1967. He has served as a Sunday School teacher and executive board member, and is at present a member of Second Church of Christ, Scientist, Newport Beach, California.
