With a heart filled with gratitude to God and for Christian Science, which has again brought us the glad tidings of Christ-healing, I tell of a healing I experienced in 1966.
I had climbed onto a chair in order to take down a rather highly-placed vase. As I was doing this, a leg of the chair broke, and I lay on the floor. The fright was very great, for I saw that my foot was broken. Fortunately, I was not alone in my apartment that day, and I requested that a Christian Science practitioner be called and asked to come immediately. The practitioner began to treat me at once and declared firmly and positively, "There is no break in Love, for Love is a unity. Love heals everything!" These powerful thoughts immediately encouraged and supported me, so that the fear was dispelled.
After I had been lovingly put to bed, the foot was covered with only a light cloth, so that the evidence of the injury was no longer visible. The next day I was able to tell the practitioner about something that had happened during the night. The activity that was going on in my broken foot and in the leg as well was like that of a workshop. It was as if many little hands were at work. The feeling can't be described. In the meantime I prayed that the Christ might be glorified in my consciousness and that its manifestation might be revealed.
