From the October 1972 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Why do Christian Scientists join The Mother Church?

Often it's out of gratitude for the practical, healing insights and transformed lives they've found through their study of Christian Science. Or it may be a desire to join with others the world over who are committed to understanding the truths of Christian Science more clearly and living them more fully.

The decision to become a member of The Mother Church is one that speaks of conviction, appreciation, and eagerness to take part in a great healing movement.
