CHURCH IN ACTION News and Announcements

Fostering brotherhood

From the November 1974 issue of The Christian Science Journal

The Florida church sponsoring the lecture was in the white community—as were the other three branch churches in the metropolitan area that agreed to participate jointly in the lecture preparations.

But the lecture itself was presented in the city's black community, to residents largely unfamiliar with Christian Science. So one task was to anticipate well in advance otherwise inevitable questions from the residents: What's Christian Science? What's your purpose here? Why should we attend a lecture?
