The Sunday School, as we all know, is fully governed and protected by Mrs. Eddy's provisions in the Manual of The Mother Church. It is as firmly grounded in spiritual law as the church institution of which it is an integral part. If at any time we should be tempted to think of our Sunday School as something to tuck away in a far corner of the edifice, where its pupils will not become overly visible to us, then we would need to remember how much a part of church it is and how much we really love children and young people.
Does a gulf appear to exist between the young and the mature? Did God create two groups of His children, the young and the old, and decree that they should be alien? Not at all! Our textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, declares, "Man in Science is neither young nor old." Science and Health, p. 244 Many branch churches have proved that this entirely erroneous belief in age differences can be silenced, destroyed, and replaced by loving oneness.
A church in Florida wrote us, "The young people of the age of twelve and over who are members of our church and/or who participate in our Wednesday evening and other open meetings feel a sense of oneness and not age groupings. Our more seasoned workers also have an ageless outlook and welcome the contributions of our youth."
