What a Practitioner Proves

The telephone rings. A Christian Science practitioner picks up the phone and hears a frantic call for help. He or she speaks a few words—perhaps words of comfort to quiet the fear—hangs up the phone and works quietly.

Many people want to know what he is doing. How does the practitioner work metaphysically?

Basic to treatment is the statement Mrs. Eddy makes in describing Christian Science. It is in the Glossary of Science and Health and is included in her definition of "Elias." Part of this definition reads: "Prophecy; spiritual evidence opposed to material sense; Christian Science, with which can be discerned the spiritual fact of whatever the material senses behold."
