Principle's Powerful Forces: Always Ours to Apply

A human being at all times has the God-derived ability to pray. Through inspired, correct prayer he can claim and exercise his inherent dominion and overcome subjection, make strong progress toward controlling his life.

Mrs. Eddy writes: "Prayer is the utilization of the love wherewith He loves us. Prayer begets an awakened desire to be and do good. It makes new and scientific discoveries of God, of His goodness and power." No and Yes, p. 39;

In the first chapter of Genesis we are told that God made man in His image and likeness and gave man "dominion . . . over all the earth." Gen. 1:26; Obviously, God, who is infinite, impartial Love, does not bestow upon each of us tyrannical power. He does not give us power to influence evilly; we exercise authority over evil as proof of His power.
