RESOLVE

From the May 1976 issue of The Christian Science Journal

I will listen.

Too much
has been said
in the world
that is not to the point.

I will listen—I resolve
to seal my lips
against
vain repetition
garrulous gossip
careless criticism.

But I will speak
when fear would whisper:
It is wise
to be silent.

I will listen
for Love's holy will.

Mind will tell me
when to speak
when to be still.
