Our periodicals: a vital healing force

From the January 1979 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Although the complete statement of Christian Science is in Science and Health, Mrs. Eddy says of her writing of that work, "She has made no effort to embellish, elaborate, or treat in full detail so infinite a theme." Science and Health, p. x; Her founding of the Christian Science periodicals certainly provides a format for exploring further the themes that have their basic statement in the textbook.

The periodicals offer fresh views of the goodness of God in His infinite design. They are evidence of the impulsion of our Father speaking to His children. They begin to catalog the unlimited variety of Mind's ideas and the ever-abounding beauty of Soul, giving us fresh glimpses of the meaning and holiness of Life. They tell of the power of Spirit's creation, ever appearing in Love's expanding harmony and fulfillment.

The loving nature of God and His reflection, complete but ever unfolding, is the infinite theme of reality. This is what the periodicals endeavor to depict with ever-increasing clarity and freshness. These new views of creation's inexhaustible, wondrous story prove practical in daily living.
