Healing: a function of the college and university Christian Science organization

From the October 1979 issue of The Christian Science Journal

"Where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them." Matt. 18:20; These words of Jesus to his disciples are cherished by students who derive strength from and feel a special rapport with a Christian Science organization at their college or university. Often these students are few in number, but their experiences as Christian Scientists on campuses are and will remain significant in their own lives as well as in their communities.

One Christian Science practitioner told us recently, "It was really college organization that got me serious about Christian Science, so it remains very dear to my heart. I'd gone to a Christian Science Sunday School but then drifted, until I was away from home at a university. There I had some friends who were Scientists. They invited me to a meeting of the organization.

"It was a very small group. But the kids were giving testimonies about applying Science to their academic work, writing papers, and taking exams. And that was what I was most interested in. It was the first time that I understood that I could apply Christian Science.
