The Father does the works

A young man went into the full-time practice of Christian Science healing. One day when he answered a new patient's knock at the door, she took a surprised look at him and asked, "Is your father in?" The young practitioner smiled and replied, "Yes, my Father is in, but I'm the practitioner!"

That young practitioner realized that God, his Father, was the healer. He knew that Christian healing is not dependent on one's age. God, divine Mind, is always in—ever present—and does the healing work.

Many Christian Scientists deeply cherish the desire to contribute to the healing of mankind through applying the teachings of Mary Baker Eddy. Whether one is a young person thinking about the practice, a fairly recent student of Christian Science, or one who has been studying this Science for years, it is helpful to realize, as Christ Jesus did, that "the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works." John 14:10;
