Resist the devil (James 4:7)

The New English Bible (NEB) reads, "Stand up to the devil and he will turn and run." In Greek the word diabolos means "slanderer." It was used to connote personified evil, especially whatever undercut one's relationship with God through suspicion and accusation.

They have their reward (Matt. 6:5)
