My grandmother and mother were healed through prayer in Christian Science, and they immediately accepted this teaching. So I was associated with this religion all during my childhood. During my late teens, with friends I investigated many other religions before realizing that Christian Science was the only one that satisfied my concept of God and man. I began to regularly attend a branch Church of Christ, Scientist; then I became a member. Shortly after that I joined The Mother Church.
During the succeeding years, among the healings I have had are those of a heart condition and a severely infected toe. There was also a healing of grief at the passing of my mother.
In the case of the heart condition, a thyroid problem was involved. My husband, who was not a student of Christian Science, insisted I have medical treatment, which resulted in surgery. The heart did not respond, and the doctors' verdict was that I could die at any moment. No further medication was given, as it was felt to be of no use.
