My husband and I had a wonderful introduction to Science when the prayer of a Christian Science practitioner healed our child. We were told by medical authorities that the boy would have to undergo tests for the breathing difficulty he was already receiving medication for. We decided to contact a practitioner, and for the first time in over six weeks we all slept through the night. When our son woke in the morning, we found he was healed.
This healing was proof to us that there is a religion that can attain the healing results that Christ Jesus achieved. We were eager for a spiritual foundation in our lives, and so we began attending a local Church of Christ, Scientist, regularly.
Within a few weeks both of us lost our desire for alcoholic beverages, and some of the other healings that followed were of fever, colds, sore throat, headache, earache, flu, a sprained ankle, allergies, bursitis, and menstrual cramps. Many times the grand results came after we asked for help from a practitioner, but we were amazed, too, at the healing power we were able to demonstrate ourselves— fruits of the inspiration gained from daily study of the Bible and Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. It was the beginning of a continuing adventure!
