The recognition of God's absolute and total control is adequate to heal bodily malfunctions of any kind. We can know without question that the spirituality, perfection, and goodness man reflects from God, Mind, must be expressed unceasingly in his every action. Mrs. Eddy states, "Every function of the real man is governed by the divine Mind."Science and Health, p. 151.
Matter-based reasoning insists that man is material and is constituted of various organs, the functioning of which determines his life, health, and harmony. This materialistic view further claims that there are harmful forces that can control the body, cause malfunction, and result in disease and destruction. Christian Science refutes this and teaches us how the truth of God and man can correct such conditions.
There is no better way to start than to strengthen our understanding of God. This is always our greatest need. By turning away from the physical problem demanding attention, we can discern more clearly the ever-presence of divine Love, the omnipotence of Truth, the allness of Spirit. We can reinforce our conviction that God is the sole cause, the source of all being. A clear comprehension of our Maker's all-power is an indispensable requirement in invoking successfully God's law of healing.
