Destroying death—today!

From the November 1982 issue of The Christian Science Journal

To mortal consciousness, death seems final and inevitable. This same consciousness simultaneously longs for death as a giver of freedom from problems and fears it as a cessation of existence.

To overcome death, we must clarify our concept of what death is, and activate our sense of Life as the eternal Mind. Since God is the only Mind, the one true consciousness, and He is good, each of His ideas must be the reflection of this divine consciousness. Anything opposed to this Mind is the opposite of life; is death.

Therefore, in a sense, every unhealed mortal belief is death itself. We can either submit to these beliefs, which culminate in what mortal sense calls death, or we can choose to turn from mortal illusion to the spiritual sense of life, which is inseparable from God, Life.
