During a family outing our youngest daughter was missing for a short while. Very soon we found her floating motionless in a pool of dirty water. I quickly grabbed her, vigorously slapped her on the back, and turned her upside down. But there was no response.
My wife during these moments voiced spiritual truths. In turn I silently, prayerfully, and with clarity acknowledged that God and His active, living expression, man, are only and always present. The material sense testimony was given no credence. Instead, it was denied in thought; replaced with the evidence of the spiritual senses, which cognize only Life— harmonious and perfect, never beginning and never ending, and forever including man's (our child's) true identity.
By my wife's and my prayer, holding unrelentingly in thought this Christ-idea or spiritual Truth, our daughter finally revived. For the next several hours she spit up much water. But by bedtime that night she was completely normal.
