The Bible records that Christ Jesus wept at the tomb of his friend Lazarus. We don't know what Jesus was thinking at the time, though we do know, from the Biblical account, that he loved Lazarus dearly.See John 11:5, 33-36.
But whatever personal feelings were present, they must have been subordinated in order to gain a great spiritual victory. Through the power of consecrated, understanding prayer, Jesus brought Lazarus back to life.
Finite, personal sense tends to mourn over its losses. Spiritual sense—a conscious understanding of Spirit, God— takes us beyond the appearance of mortality to the truth of immortality.
