Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are. . . . I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me. John 17:11, 23.

Last December, The Mother Church called a worldwide meeting of Christian Scientists, who were able to join together via a simultaneous satellite broadcast. At this unprecedented meeting they were enjoined to consider serious dangers facing our planet, and the spiritual means for neutralizing these dangers and bringing peace on earth. This meeting was, in large part, a call to pray—and a call to more consistently live our prayers.
