THE CHURCH IN ACTION

ACTION IN THE FIELD

From Indiana to Accra, the Sentinel is shared

From the March 1986 issue of The Christian Science Journal

The librarian of the Reading Room in Madison, Indiana, received a call at home from a woman who said she wanted to know more about spirituality and it had come to her that Christian Science was what could help her. The women met at the Reading Room, and the librarian was glad to have a copy of the September 2, 1985, Christian Science Sentinel to give to the other woman.

Many Christian Scientists are finding that the Sentinel communicates the very spiritual intelligence and healing power they want so much to make more available to others. Sentinel readers also know that the magazine is now carrying, several times a year, a series called "Some questions and answers about Christian Science" (see the January 13 issue for the most recent example). This feature first appeared in the September 2, 1985, issue, which had the cover title "Spirituality now."

That issue of last September was prepared especially for the international conference of Christian Science college organizations held in August 1985. Some 25,000 extra copies were produced—and distributed. The following collection of comment gives an idea of how that particular issue of the Sentinel has been shared with mankind—not just by the students, but also by other individual Christian Scientists, by churches in Reading Rooms, at lectures, and in other ways. Many have been given out to visitors to The Christian Science Publishing Society. Every issue of the Sentinel has something for the millions of spiritually hungry in the world.
