Primary class instruction: an answer to prayer

From the March 1986 issue of The Christian Science Journal

"Oh that I knew where I might find him!"Job 23:3 . When we begin to echo longingly Job's desire to find God, perhaps we're ready to consider Primary class instruction in Christian Science. The Bible reassures us through the words of the Psalmist that God does answer our deepest desires: "Lord, thou hast heard the desire of the humble: thou wilt prepare their heart, thou wilt cause thine ear to hear."Ps. 10:17 .

The provision for class instruction is established by Mrs. Eddy in the Manual of The Mother Church. This inspiring and practical course is taught by authorized teachers at locations all over the world. Primary class is available to all earnest students of Christian Science who wish to learn more of its teachings and of the healing power that proceeds from a spiritual understanding of God and man.

Because Christian Science itself is of God, the provision for class instruction is also of God. Perhaps this is one of the most important points for anyone who is considering this progressive step to recognize—that the awakening interest in learning more of God and of the Science that emanates from Him is not just a personal desire. It is the activity of the ever-present Christ, Truth, in our own consciousness, impelling us to open our eyes to the abundance of divine good that God is ever bestowing on man. And because it is the unopposed Christ which brings the desire to know this good, our desire can be fulfilled.
