The Normal class of the Board of Education was held early in December. In compliance with the By-Law, Article XXX, Section 1, of the Manual of The Mother Church by Mary Baker Eddy, this class convenes on the first Wednesday of December in each third year.
The teacher of the 1985 Normal class was Jean Stark Hebenstreit, C.S.B., of Kansas City, Missouri, practitioner and teacher of Christian Science and currently a member of The Christian Science Board of Lectureship.
Mrs. Hebenstreit is a lifelong Christian Scientist. She is a graduate of the Conservatory of Music of the University of Missouri, and has a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Kansas. After a brief career in real estate management, she entered the full-time public practice of Christian Science and became listed in The Christian Science Journal in 1955. She became an authorized teacher of Christian Science in 1964. Mrs. Hebenstreit was formerly a member of The Christian Science Board of Directors.
