The healing office of Christ is eloquently stated in Luke 4 (which echoes Isa. 61:1,2): "[The Lord] hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, to preach the acceptable year of the Lord." Luke 4:18, 19.
Two thousand years ago Christ Jesus fulfilled this promise with profound results, and today the Science of Christ, Christian Science, is continuing God's great work of spiritual healing.
A vital agency for this work is the weekly Bible Lesson in the Christian Science Quarterly. It is studied daily by Christian Scientists the world over and serves as the Sunday sermon in all branch Churches of Christ, Scientist.
