Man, the highest idea of creation, must function in accord with the purpose for which God, his divine Principle, created him. He is created by a loving Father-Mother God to perform a specific function—to express the nature of God. This is the reason for his being. Divine cause absolutely governs its effect. And man, in his true being, is the child, the effect, the emanation, of the great First Cause which is God.
Spiritual man, the beloved representation of his divine Principle, God, can never be pulled apart from that Principle and can never cease or fail to evidence his unity or oneness with Principle, the divine source of his being.
Mrs. Eddy teaches us: "We learn in the Scriptures, as in divine Science, that God made all; that He is the universal Father and Mother of man; that God is divine Love: therefore divine Love is the divine Principle of the divine idea named man; in other words, the spiritual Principle of spiritual man. Now let us not lose this Science of man, but gain it clearly; then we shall see that man cannot be separated from his perfect Principle, God, inasmuch as an idea cannot be torn apart from its fundamental basis."
