Sharing with others what Christian Science has meant in my life is a way for me to thank God for all my blessings. My family's introduction to Christian Science came about when I was a young girl through the healing of my mother, who had been sickly all her life.
One day, when she became ill while shopping, she went to a public waiting room at a bus depot to rest. There she found an issue of The Christian Science Journal in a literature rack and thus first learned of Christian Science. From the listing toward the back of this periodical she found the name of a local Christian Science practitioner, whom she got in touch with.
As a result of the healing that followed the prayerful help of this practitioner, my mother began an earnest study of Christian Science, joined the local Church of Christ, Scientist, and enrolled my brothers and sisters and me in the Christian Science Sunday School. My father also took up the study of Christian Science, and over the years there were numerous physical healings in our large family of seven children, as well as resolutions of financial difficulties.
