CHURCH BULLETIN BOARD

and items of note this month

From the October 1991 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Whether at a shopping mall, on a college campus, or in the foyer of a church, a bulletin board is a great place for people to share information. You can learn a lot about an active community from reading local bulletin boards. We hope you'll enjoy this bulletin board and feel encouraged to join in and share experiences.

Like many other people, I've been thinking a lot lately about war and peacemaking. An experience I had while serving in a Christian Science Reading Room has meant a great deal to me in this regard.

I was in the Reading Room one day when a stranger came in and asked how much money was in the cash box. I answered that we had only a few dollars. "We're a church," I said, "and we don't keep much money on hand." He began shadowboxing.
