Mrs. Eddy writes in Science and Health, "The days of our pilgrimage will multiply instead of diminish, when God's kingdom comes on earth; for the true way leads to Life instead of to death, and earthly experience discloses the finity of error and the infinite capacities of Truth, in which God gives man dominion over all the earth." For the past fourteen years, I have had the joy of witnessing this prophecy become increasingly real in my own experience, and I wish to express my gratitude for what Christian Science has brought to my life. How grateful I am to have seen sin, disease, despair, and limitations replaced with the evidence of man's God-given dominion and inherent capacity to express all that the infinite Mind, God, knows and creates.
One of the most meaningful healings I have experienced occurred when I was a new student of Christian Science. About a year before I was introduced to Science, I had gone through a few months of severe depression in which I virtually stopped eating. During this time I developed a skin rash. This condition remained with me long after I started eating again, up to the time I was introduced to Christian Science.
As a new student of Science, I intuitively knew that this condition could be healed through prayer, but I never made a conscious effort to rid myself of the difficulty. At one point, however, a friend suggested that I pray about the situation. I realized that it was my privilege to take my study of Christian Science out of the realm of mere theory and to begin translating the spiritual truths I was learning into my daily experience. I saw that if evil—including sin, sickness, and death—is unreal in theory, it must be unreal in practice; and if God's goodness is the only reality, it must be provable in day-to-day life.
