"Let it be known this day that thou art God in Israel, and that I am thy servant." These words spoken by Elijah have strengthened me so often that I would like to share a healing I had that was associated with them.
About six years ago I had an open, ugly sore on my neck. I prayed about this for a long time. Fear, discouragement, doubt, and guilt seemed tenacious, but they were not as persistent as spiritual inspiration and assurances of divine Truth.
So many, many spiritual truths supported me along the way to healing, I cannot begin to count them all; but I can see now that a key to this healing was active participation in all the avenues of church membership. Church kept me involved in giving, sharing, and helping my community. With church periodicals to read, services twice a week, daily study of the Bible Lesson and association meetings, there was little opportunity to stray very far from the spiritual truth of my being as God's child. Learning sincerely to love teaching Sunday School after recently having served as Reader was a test for me, but I give much credit for my healing to what I learned in and about Sunday School. A more spiritual perception of children and of myself as a child of God was important.
