When I was chairman of the executive board of our branch church several years ago, a member delivered what seemed to me to be a scathing attack upon the board. Suddenly the quarterly meeting was sparked by confrontation.
I was troubled by the manipulation and desire for personal gain that seemed evident in this incident. Yet I knew I needed to look beyond the merely personal for healing. I needed to listen to God.
So I asked myself, "What is the Father's will here?" And the answer came to love this dear one as the Father does—as held in the arms of Love, reflecting His grace.
