THE BIBLE AND CHILDREN

The Mother Church hosts a summer Bible program

From the April 1991 issue of The Christian Science Journal

A four-year-old listened quietly to several children's tapes of Bible stories, available through The Christian Science Publishing Society. He summed up what he'd learned: "God isn't the biggest power; He's the only power." And he told his little sister, "God is never not your Shepherd." Over the years, children from every denomination, and from none, have discovered and rediscovered just how relevant the Bible is in their everyday lives, through these children's Bible stories.

So when the Church Outreach and Ministry Department was making plans for a special Bible series for children last summer, the children's books were a natural place to start.

Last spring, invitations describing the eight-week, Tuesday morning program were sent to local churches, day camps, and community programs.
