Dear Reader

From the February 1993 issue of The Christian Science Journal

A member of our staff, whose family was hosting a student from another country, was telling us a little about the experience. The host-family found out that their guest really enjoyed going to the cinema, but she didn't care to watch any love stories. She said they're too mushy!

This started us thinking about the many "love stories" (not the mushy kind) that cross our desks each week. They're the manuscripts from contributors throughout the world that tell of their insights and experiences with real love, the love of God, which is clearly improving their lives. You'll see some of these contributions in the following pages. We think you'll agree that they're not only tenderly moving but healing.

Love that's both moving and healing is a message that needs to be circulated. It needs to be discovered and rediscovered by people everywhere. We're talking about love that's far more than human emotion. It's the stirring, purifying, comforting, healing activity of God, who is perfect Love itself.
