From The Christian Science Board of Lectureship

From the February 1993 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Igniting fresh hope. Breaking through fear. Healing. Embracing each listener in strong conviction of divine Love's present power and control. A vital Christian Science lecture does at least these things! And they are only the beginning of what is divinely possible.

Are we expecting too little from lectures? After all, they're a major channel for communicating the healing Science of Christianity to the whole world. Mary Baker Eddy put no limits on the good that lecturing could accomplish. And she demanded the very best efforts from speakers representing her Cause publicly.

But what about us as church members: how open are we to evolving methods and ideas? What's the link between in-person lectures and radio or television lectures? And, how do the lecturers see the substance and potential of their work?
