God has blessed my life over and over again, and I feel compelled to give thanks for this with a testimony. Through Christian Science I came finally to know that God really exists. That knowledge delivered me from great need.
Shortly after the Second World War, I had been driven from my homeland because of the war, a penniless student in a ravaged land. I was also sick. Life seemed hopeless. Then an acquaintance, seeing my need, told me about Christian Science. She explained God to me as infinite, divine Love, which neither creates nor knows sin, disease, or death, but rather redeems us from them. I heard that we are actually God's spiritual, perfect creation, and that "we live, and move, and have our being" in God (Acts 17:28), as His likeness. I heard that this fact is demonstrable when one admits these spiritual truths into consciousness. These were wonderful thoughts which I understood in my heart. With great joy I read the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health. It changed my thinking, and with that my life as well.
I quickly regained health, found a way to finance my academic studies, and found much support in attending the church services. Through my new understanding of God's loving guidance and of man as the expression of divine intelligence, even the period of my final examinations became a blessed experience of knowing God's presence and help.
