As practitioners of Christian Science, how can we heal ourselves, our family members, and our friends—including the general public who request our help—more effectively?
The answers to this question are found in the textbooks of Christian Science: the Bible and Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy. These books show how God, Truth, heals through Christ. They provide us with the rules that enable us to practice the healing ministry of Truth.
Obedience to the Ten Commandments and Christ Jesus' Sermon on the Mount is basic to Christian Science healing. Jesus also spoke of a Comforter coming to teach us how to follow Christ more fully. The Comforter is what Mrs. Eddy calls the Science of Christianity, or Divine Science. This Science is the Science of God, man, and Christ. Mrs. Eddy received Divine Science from God and through the Scriptures, practiced it, proved it, and explained it in Science and Health. These laws of God tell us how to live for God, how to live with one another as God's offspring, and how to lessen the sufferings of humanity.
