Letter from a new—and longtime—friend

"...where heart meets heart reciprocally blest..."

From the January 1995 issue of The Christian Science Journal

We felt a distinct reciprocal blessing in this letter from Rev. Dorothy Faust. With her letter came an account of her pastoral and spiritual healing work over many years as a hospital chaplain. Rev. Mrs. Faust has reached out for the hem of Christ's garment herself and found healing. She speaks for many people who are quietly walking with us on the road of spiritual discovery—what early Christians called "the way."

"New occasions teach new duties..."

Some of the experiences with Christian Scientists that Rev. Mrs. Faust describes took place many years ago, in a different social climate. Today we are seeing significant changes both in the climate of opinion and in how Christian Scientists are responding to new demands and new opportunities to heal, teach, and preach.
