Dictionary published in Iran includes Christian Science definitions

From the November 1995 issue of The Christian Science Journal

A five-volume dictionary published in Tehran, called the most comprehensive to date by its compiler, is inclusive of Christian Science in some of its entries. Available in bookstores that stock Persian publications, The New Unabridged English-Persian Dictionary, edited by Abbas Aryanpur (Tehran: Amir-Kabir Publishing & Printing Institution, 1990), is an "attempt to bring our English-Persian vocabulary up to the present-day level of usage." Explanations are given for three of the synonyms for God in Science and Health—Spirit, Mind, and Love—in addition to each word's common meanings. (The primary language of Iran is Persian, or Farsi, which does not provide for capitalization; and the state religion is Islam, teaching belief in Allah, or one supreme God.) Following various definitions under the word mind, for example, is the entry "[among Christian Science Christians] god, divine mind." The dictionary offers as its description of Christian Science: "a number of christians that believe disease has a mental origin and therefore this is treated by spiritual means not with medical (medically)."
