As you may have read in the notice on page 3, we'll soon be publishing a feature under the title "How I study the Bible Lesson—and put it into practice. "
Those of you who are thinking of contributing to this series may be interested to read an excerpt from remarks made by Dr. John M. Tutt, C.S.B., at a Periodicals Fruitage Meeting held in the Extension of The Mother Church on June 6, 1950, and later published in the Christian Science Sentinel. Dr. Tutt was a practitioner and teacher of Christian Science, and a longtime member of The Christian Science Board of Lectureship.
I used to study the Lesson-Sermon in a determined attempt to arrive at the theme in the thought of the compilers of the Lesson, and I found at times not only some difficulty in arriving at such comprehension, but also an even greater problem in making such a conclusion meet my particular need. But when I began to realize that the Lesson-Sermon was especially for me in my present stage of consciousness, then instead of measuring myself to a fixed exhortation, I was able to gain the inspiration and comfort of my pastor's healing and saving ministration, and so the Lesson-Sermon was properly measured to my need.
