Over three years ago I was promoted to a more responsible position within my company. Not only did the job entail larger responsibilities, but the records and systems I inherited demanded much updating. Also my support staff was very lean, and I needed to become more bilingual in order to integrate successfully into both the company and the business community.
In the updating process I listened carefully in the way I had been taught in Christian Science for God to guide me. This was much the same way I saw Joseph as having listened to a divine power above his own human level of reasoning and thus being able to help save his and other nations (see Gen., chaps. 37-45). The ideas and talents needed to perform work I was not specifically trained in came each day, without fail, through this prayer. I learned how to work more efficiently, accomplishing more in less time.
But even though I was able to improve the company's modus operandi, I was experiencing chronic mental and physical stress.
