". . . blessed is that man who seeth his brother's need and supplieth it, seeking his own in another's good" (Science and Health, p. 518). I am forever grateful to the friend who presented Christian Science to my mother during the dark days of the great Depression, when he called at our home on a routine business matter.
In the course of his conversation, this man saw my mother's great need, and asked if he might have his wife call on her. Mother willingly accepted this invitation to "a table in the wilderness," and from that day on our family began to study Christian Science and attend church services regularly.
Though at times life seemed very dark, my mother stood firm in her faith that Christian Science was God's answer to her prayer and would surely sustain us. In the face of sometimes overwhelming difficulties, her steadfastness and obedience have been of inestimable inspiration to me.
