From my first visit to a Christian Science Church, I knew I was home. A good friend, whose light was shining, invited me to a Wednesday service. I will never forget the "quiet time" (silent prayer) and the Lord's Prayer, and their healing effect. I felt so loved.
Through the study, prayer, and practice of Christian Science, I have a better understanding of my unity with God. I know that God is good and that man is created in His image and likeness.
One morning I was ill. My face and one arm were numb. I became fearful and called a practitioner for spiritual help through prayer. I was reminded that the Bible tells us, "There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear" (I John 4:18). Therefore, fear is neither a cause nor an effect. Spiritual sense tells us what is real; fear does not.
