Letters & Conversations

To our readers . . .

From the Publishing Director's Office

From the February 1995 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Since last month, listeners to the Christian Science Quarterly—Bible Lessons on audio cassette will have noticed some new voices. For many years, Talking Book Publishers of Colorado recorded the master tapes for us to reproduce and distribute. We are grateful to them and all the readers for their fine work. The Lessons are now recorded and produced in Boston at the Church Center. In recording the Bible Lessons, we recognize that everything about these Lessons is impersonal and is for the spiritual enlightenment and education of the listener. The readers represent an important part of the communication of ideas, and each is chosen carefully. In conjunction with the new voices, listeners will also notice some new accents. It is our hope that these will help express the universal nature and availability of the truth found in the Bible Lessons.

Again this year, we were treated to a floodtide of gratitude responding to the mailing of the Thanksgiving Bible Lesson in full text format to subscribers and Mother Church members. We are grateful to all those who took the time to write a note of thanks and want to share just a few short excerpts from the hundreds of letters received:

"Thank you ... for the Full Text Thanksgiving Quarterly. What a wonderful gift! It will be well read at our house!" M.T., Ontario, Canada
