Seven years ago I moved from Michigan to Florida. I felt somewhat uneasy about the move, as I had frequently taken refuge in our basement during severe thunderstorms; I knew I would not have a basement in Florida, as that is not how houses are constructed here. I still had a great fear of thunderstorms, and wondered how I would get along without a basement.
Turning to God for an answer, I thought of this verse from Joshua: "The Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest" (1:9). This made me confident that I would be safe. From the moment I arrived in Florida, all fear of thunderstorms left me, and I have remained completely free from that fear.
One day I was heating some chocolate syrup in the microwave. I left it in a bit too long, and when I reached in to take it out of the oven the dish was extremely hot. I immediately dropped the dish, and the boiling syrup poured into a puddle in the upturned palm of my hand. I washed it off and declared that there is no sensation in matter; the senses of divine Spirit are forever at peace, and I was governed by God. Divine Mind produces no accidents or burns. After about twenty minutes of reasoning spiritually, I found the pain was gone. The palm was still very red and I felt I would not be able to go to my dancing class the next day, concerned that I would not be able to let anyone touch the hand. But this fear was not grounded in God, and therefore it was powerless. The next morning the redness was gone and the blistering had dried. I was free. This was a very quick healing!
