On the way to my church one day to do some chores, I suddenly had pain in my chest. As I drove into a parking space and shut off the motor, breathing was difficult and my left arm was completely numb. I managed to let myself into the church and fell into a chair in the foyer.
I tried to recall some healing statements from Science and Health, but could not. Knowing that there was a sofa in the boardroom, I went there to lie down. I felt myself drifting in and out of consciousness, and prayed for God's help, repeating over and over, "God help me."
My eyes were closed, but eventually I could sense the presence of someone standing in the doorway. When I managed to open my eyes, I saw that it was a practitioner who attends our church. She asked if she could help. With a soft voice, I asked her to pray for me.
