I witnessed the experience my husband has related. Needless to say it was quite a shock to turn around and not see him anywhere in sight. When my daughter and I realized what had happened, we both went to the edge of the land and saw him slumped in the water. She told me to stay right where I was while she and her husband descended the cliff to help him.
I knew my job was to pray, including all of us in this prayer. That is exactly what I did. The Lord's Prayer, with its spiritual interpretation from Science and Health, "the scientific statement of being," and the twenty-third Psalm were all comforting, and I knew they covered this whole situation.
The seriousness of the circumstances hit me in many ways. One was fear for our future. And how could Wade even get back up the cliff of limestone rocks and bushes? Prayer, and more prayer, was my answer. I knew God was there, He was the All-power, the All presence, and He was all-acting.
