My first reaction was to yell to my father "All is well! You are all right!" It was a statement of spiritual fact, made as much for me as for him.
I slid down to him. As he is an individual who is always watching out for others' well being, he was blaming himself for ruining our day and causing such difficulty. Having recently studied passages in Science and Health confirming that man is neither blameworthy nor able to blame anyone (or any circumstance), I recounted that inspiration to my father. He was unfallen! I was led to reply to his comment about ruining our day, "I didn't know what we were going to do today, and now I do. Let's start rejoicing."
Because of the heavy bleeding, we talked about blood as symbolizing the love of God, circulating perfectly. The result was that the bleeding stopped. We joyously counted blessings while at lake's edge. This rejoicing continued all afternoon, as healing was obviously taking place. What cleansing and bandaging was needed, we did easily. God's loving care was evident, and healing was quick.
