A writer from California relates the following:
A young divorced woman I worked with was frequently late to work or had to take time off because her young daughter was chronically ill. Although I didn't know what the illness was, I knew it caused them both grief. Once I read an article in the Christian Science Sentinel that dealt with single parenting and care for one's child and oneself, and I was impelled to share it with her. She was very grateful. Later, at Christmas, the thought came very clearly to share Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy with her. So I sent it, explaining that people had been, and are being, healed by reading the book. I also pointed out that the chapter "Fruitage" includes testimonies of many such healings. I mentioned that her daughter could also be healed.
My friend was so touched. She was amazed that I would think of her and her daughter and share this book. She wrote back to me, "I can barely find the words to thank you for your thoughtfulness. The book is such a special, heartfelt gift. I will definitely read it."
