With growing gratitude I forward to you my first written testimony in nearly three decades of Christian Science study. Back ailments, headaches, stomach disorders, and relationships are among the numerous problems that have been healed in my study and application of this glorious truth, for which I am most thankful.
Recently, after an uplifting Wednesday evening service, I suddenly fell down two steps, severely turning my ankle. I immediately found myself handling the false pride of a fear that someone would come in and find me on the floor. I then began seriously praying to know that the beauty, inspiration, and dignity of the just-completed service could not be blighted by a fallen man. To my thought immediately came a line from Science and Health that states that man "will find himself unfallen, upright, pure, and free..."(p. 171). This gave me strength to stand up, although I was in great pain.
As I sat in a chair, I prayed with all my might to know what to do. The divine voice said so clearly, "Get up and walk." I did—right out of the church—to a meeting with a fellow church member, and later to a meeting at a restaurant with a friend.
