How a neighbor responds to a church's love

From the April 1997 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Dear Editors,

Almost a year ago, a woman who lives across the street from our church met my husband and me in the parking lot one Sunday after the service to tell us her husband had passed on very suddenly. She was devastated.

She and her husband had loved working together in their lovely garden, and we had always waved and spoken to them, admiring their garden. From time to time we invited them to church. My husband got to know them quite well, as he was often at church during the week.
