What a remarkable year it was for our Sunday School at Fifth Church of Christ, Scientist, Indianapolis, Indiana! "Prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it." Mal. 3:10. How grateful our Sunday School staff is for the shower of goodness and blessings that came to us this past year as a result of an "active love" and "active witnessing" from our entire membership.
At our first Sunday School staff meeting at the beginning of the year, we determined that each Sunday we would endeavor to keep our thoughts unspotted and clear, to see the perfect child of the Father's making, to be childlike ourselves, and to know that "all thy children shall be taught of the Lord." Isa. 54:13. Also, many of the teachers have been, and continue to be, in frequent contact with Sunday School pupils during the week, expressing much interest and care in what they are doing outside of Sunday School as well as in it.
We have been most grateful for the growing number of children who attend our Sunday School, many bounding in with broad smiles and frequent hugs for the staff with a genuine eagerness to share. They tend to come early, and many help set things up. This year has also been remarkable for the many healings the children are having and have been sharing with their classes. Many of these healings have come from their own prayers, including the healing of a sore arm in a gym class. Another child gained freedom from fever with the help of a practitioner.
