I am so thankful for the confidence in God that the study of the Bible and Science and Health has brought to me. Truly He is an ever-present help!
A year ago my daughter was due to be born. I became ill with a severe bronchial infection. I kept in close contact with the Christian Science practitioner who was helping me with the metaphysical preparation for my daughter's birth. I also spent time in study and prayer, but the symptoms did not abate. One afternoon I found that my noisy breathing was the center of my attention.
By evening, I started to feel discouraged. I was dominated by the thought that I would suffocate. That fear was addressed quickly when I called the practitioner who assured me that Life is independent of matter and material process. I knew that she stated the absolute truth, and yet that statement seemed so far away from what I was experiencing. I prayed to be able to accept its reality; to understand fully that God is my life.
